The Arts Society Corinium were delighted to award a small grant towards the Acoustic Tent at The Phoenix Festival this year. Many of you will be familiar with the Phoenix Festival held in Cirencester over the late bank holiday in August in Abbey Grounds. What you may not be aware of, is that the Festival is one of very few free music festivals in the region.
Whatever one's personal music tastes, The Phoenix Festival offers the opportunity for the local community to experience and engage in live music. In particular, the Acoustic Tent provides a platform for amateur musicians to gain real audience experience on a larger scale. Moreover, participants receive guidance from industry professionals and a chance to develop their musical skills.
Despite cloud heavy skies, there was a good attendance on the Monday with over 1,500 visitors and the atmosphere was everything you might expect of a 'chill out' Monday: relaxed and welcoming.
