We are delighted to offer a visit to see a matinee performance (starts 2.00pm) of The Maiden of Venice with Birmingham Royal Ballet at Birmingham Hippodrome.

We have reserved 40 circle seats (at favourable discount) and those who wish to go must have signed up and paid by 12th November as the seats are only held for us by the Hippodrome Box Office until then.

Admiral Sandro returns victorious to Venice to prepare for his marriage to the daughter of the Doge. He learns thathis childhood love, Nicoletta, is about to become a nun, and when they meet, they declare their love for each other.  Nicoletta's guardian Bishop Olivolo overhears their declaration. The Bishop is also in love with Nicoletta and he vows to destroy Sandro.

In this sumptuous reimagining of the 19th-century classic La Bayadère, Carlos Acosta moves the action to Renaissance Venice.  With the original score by Ludwig Minkus played live by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, gorgeous designs by Anna Fleischle and show-stopping dance that includes the famous Kingdom of the Shades, this new production promises to be the ballet sensation of 2027.

We plan to arrive in Birmingham around midday allowing sufficient time for lunch and in time for the start of the production which runs for 2 hours 45 mins.  We will leave at the end of the performance and return to Cirencester.
